This was painted from the top of the cliff where A Y Jackson was inspired to paint Nellie Lake. This is looking away from Nellie down through the incredibly steep portage called The Notch. We are on the northern edge of the La Cloche mountains and everything beyond looks flat in comparison. It was an arduous trip and my paintings got pretty beat up in transit. This one is a mess. |
