This was painted on day three of a canoe trip with long uphill portages and highs of 5 C. Three of us climbed up to the top of this La Cloche Mountain to the location where A Y Jackson painted his Nellie Lake painting. The views were magnificent but the tough climb and cool temperatures made painting difficult. This is looking pack across Carmichael (Nellie) Lake towards the portage back down to Grace Lake. |
