When I painted this I was standing almost exactly where AY Jackson was when he painted his painting titled "Shoreline Wawa Lake Superior" in 1955. I had to hike down a beach and clamber along a rocky shore to get to this little lagoon but it was well worth it. The whole time that I was painting I was looking over my shoulder expecting to see Jackson's ghost nodding approval. |
